While the top four guys at 145 lbs not competing this year, there will still be six top-20 kids in the mix. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as it means there is a good chance this turns into a breakout tournament for somebody.

Welsh Moving Up

Rocco Welsh, 10th, PA

We had heard inklings that Pennsylvania standout Rocco Welsh was moving up and this confirms it. The Waynesburg sophomore was a state finalist last year at 126 and currently ranked #8 at 132. This could create lineup problems as senior Iowa commit and teammate Wyatt Henson is currently at this weight, too.

Despite only being a sophomore, moving up three weights from last season, and only being ranked #8, Welsh has the ability to win this bracket.

Watch Rocco Welsh take out current Navy freshman Luke Lucerne to make the PA state finals below.

Two Standout Seniors

#18 Henry Porter, 12th, CA

#19 Alex Martin, 12th, OH

Back-to-back in the 145-lb rankings, Henry Porter and Alex Martin are two very solid seniors. Porter took third at the California state tournament last year and Martin went through a heck of a run at 2019 Super 32 to take third. The two just met at the Grappler Fall Classic with Porter winning 2-1.

Four Fantastic Freshmen

Angelo Ferrari, 9th, OK

Kael Voinovich, 9th, OH

Conner Harer, 9th, PA

Zack Ryder, 9th, GA

If you think you recognize the last names of the first two guys, you probably do. They are the younger brothers of Oklahoma State commit Victor Voinovich and Oklahoma State freshman AJ Ferrari. Kael made the Super 32 middle school finals last year at 136 lbs and some people are predicting that Angelo may be the best Ferrari of the three brothers.

Conner Harer is another freshman who made the Super 32 middle school finals last year.

Watch Conner Harer make the 2019 Super 32 middle school finals below.

Zack Ryder is only a freshman, but already a two-time New York state champion with their high school eligibility rules.

Southern Studs

#7 Garrison Dendy, 11th, GA/TN

#15 Michael Killic, 11th, GA

Garrison Dendy is a force to be reckoned with and will be looking for redemption after falling just short of the podium at last year’s Super 32. Originally from Georgia, he now lives and goes to school in Baylor, Tennessee, while training at Cody Chittum’s club: Boom Ranch.

From and still currently abiding in Georgia is Michael Killic. Killic is an NHCSA champion, a Fargo Greco champion, and a state champion. He recently took out both #17 Nick Fea and #18 Henry Porter at the Grappler Fall Classic.

Watch Michael Killic win a 2019 NHSCA title below.
