Nic Bouzakis is not just the top 132-pounder in the country, he's also the #1 recruit in the class of 2022. Can he run an insane Super 32 gauntlet for the second year in a row? Here's why you can't miss 132 at Super 32.

Why Bouzakis is the Favorite

If you haven't been paying attention to Nic Bouzakis, you need to start. The guy wrestles everywhere, and he only seems to know how to win. Since 2019, he has won Fargo, Super 32, Ironman, Eastern States, and National Preps. The only tournament he didn't win in that timespan was Powerade in which a questionable slam call in the finals led to a loss when his opponent was unable to continue.

This fall, Bouzakis didn't get to wrestle Ryan Crookham at Who's #1 after Crookham suffered an injury during training. That didn't stop him from getting significant mat time in both in Pennsylvania and beyond. He has gone 13-0 between the Olympic Club Duals and the Grappler Fall Classic, so his skills are sharp. He won this event last year, and he's the clear favorite to do it again.

The Insane Gauntlet Of Contenders at 132

An incredible seven of the top 10 are here as are 13 of the top 20. Both #3 Maximo Renteria and #4 Nico Nardone were Super 32 finalists last year. Nardone fell to Bouzakis in the finals at 126lbs while Renteria lost to Jordan Williams at 120lbs. Chance Lamer from Oregon, the #5 guy here. He just knocked the rust off last weekend with a Freakshow title that included a 5-0 performance and four bonus-point wins.

Colorado senior #7 Vince Cornella, Michigan junior #9 Casey Swiderski, and Florida junior #10 Tom Crook round out the top 10. Both Swiderski and Crook were in action at the Grappler Fall Classic. Swiderski won the bracket at 130lbs, and Crook fell in the finals to Bouzakis at 135lbs.

Iowa senior Aidan Noonan is ranked #11 and will look to rebound after dropping his match with Garret Grice at IA Wrestle's Night of Conflict. Minnesota senior #14 Derrick Cardinal looks to build on his 5-0 performance at the Rocky Mountain Nationals Duals.

The trio of #15 Joseph Sealey of North Carolina, #17 Richard Fedalen of Maryland, and #19 Danny Nini of Florida were in action at the Grappler Fall Classic. Fedalen and Sealey finished third and fourth respectively at 135lbs while Nini was second at 130lbs.

Not only is this bracket packed with ranked studs, but it's also full of a hungry field of competitors who have been training and competing all fall.

Don't Get Caught Off-Guard By These Sleepers

Even the impressive list of ranked guys in this bracket doesn't tell the full story of the depth here. In September, Jude Swisher of Pennsylvania upset #4 Nico Nardone 6-3 and is a definite factor. Iowan Hagen Heistand looked sharp in a solid win over Dyson Kunz at IA Wrestle's Night of Conflict and could be on the verge of a big performance.

Jager Eisch of Wisconsin has been on the verge of being ranked for a while and just pinned #12 Damion Elliott at The Freakshow. Don't be surprised if he makes some noise. Pierson Manville, who recently moved to Pennsylvania, is just a freshman but he has already been in and out of the rankings. He's just outside right now after taking a few losses at 138, but like anyone named Manville, he's ultra dangerous.
