2020-21 NCAA DI Rankings

AJ Ferrari-no 9-1-1

AJ Ferrari won the hearts and minds of the wrestling community as he won a 197-pound title over Nino Bonaccorsi, Myles Amine and Jacob Warner. No doubt about being #1 after you beat numbers 2, 3 & 4. Bonaccorsi doesn’t pass Amine or Warner even though he outplaced both of them due to Nino’s best win of the weekend being Woodley, who Warner also beat.

Speaking of Woodley, he went on a heater, beating Elam, Beard and Caffey, to move way up in the rankings. After losing to Woodley in the first round, Elam went on a heater of his own, beating Schultz, Norfleet, Adams and then got revenge on Woodley for fifth.

Beard beat Buchanan to move up. Buchanan beat Adams for the fourth time this season to stay ahead in the rankings.

Owen Pentz pulled off the biggest upset of the tournament, knocking off #2 Eric Schultz in the first round. Schultz falls to just above Caffey, who he beat at Big Tens. Pentz debuts at #17 for his efforts, stopping just below Coleman, who beat him at Big 12s.

Coleman also beat Aiello at NCAAs to move the former up and the latter down. Ditto for Sloan and Davison

Pentz entering the rankings meant there was no more room for Billy Janzer, who drops into the bubble.
