Kellen Wolbert vs Tyler DeKraker Set For Who's Number One At 138 lbs

The eighth match on the boys card at Who's Number One is sure to be one of the most exciting. Recent Michigan Commit Kellen Wolbert and Minnesota commit Tyler DeKraker will square off at 138 lbs in a rematch of their wild Fargo semifinal. Expect fireworks from both wrestlers.

Kellen Wolbert reached the Fargo finals in July, a feat he also accomplished in 2022 when he won a 16U title at 113 lbs. The three-time Wisconsin state champ is known for his high pace and willingness to take risks, a combination of traits that makes Wolbert a fan-favorite. Throughout his high school career he's regularly been on the podium on wrestling's biggest stages including Fargo where he's reached the finals twice, and the U17 World Team Trials where he reached the best of three finals. Most recently, he went undefeated at the Elite 8 Duals with four victories of nationally ranked opponents.

Like Wolbert, Dekraker is no stranger to big moments. Over the course of his high school career, he's placed at tough tournaments like the Fargo, the US Open, Powerade, Beast of the East, and National Preps. Dekraker has had a circuitous path through high school. He spent his freshman year at Blair Academy before spending his sophomore year in Pennsylvania where he did not compete in the post season. As a junior, he was a Virginia state champion for Chantilly High School. Dekraker will finish his high school career at Lake Highland Prep in Florida. Despite representing a variety of programs, DeKraker has put up consistent results throughout high school and is ready for the Who's Number One stage.

Their Last Meeting

In July, Wolbert and DeKraker wrestled a 15 point semifinal that had 4 lead changes and a ton of action. With DeKraker trailing 4-4 on criteria late, Wolbert got behind and launched DeKraker with a four-pointer that would ultimately be the match-deciding sequence. Both wrestlers pursued points for all six minutes of that contest, and they'll likely compete with a similar intensity on Saturday night.
