Bo Bassett And Jordyn Raney Set To Meet At Who's Number One On October 11

Bo Bassett and Jordyn Raney are two of the most accomplished high school wrestlers in the sport. Both are coming off Fargo finals victories, and both have won age level World Medals. Now they're set to compete at Who's Number One in one of the most highly anticipated matches of the entire event.

Bo Bassett has become a household name for wrestling fans. He's already notched two Who's Number One victories in his career in three attempts. His 2024 showdown with Daniel Zepeda was the main event of the evening and lived up to the billing. He was also a U17 World champ in 2021 and a U20 World bronze medalist in 2024. On top of that, Bassett has three Super 32 titles and three Ironman titles. Bo Bassett is the top recruit in the class of 2026 and the only uncommitted recruit remaining in the top 25.

Oklahoma State commit Jordyn Raney won U17 Greco World gold in 2023 and brought home bronze a year later. He also reached the U17 freestyle World semis in 2024 but suffered a match ending injury in that bout. He will be appearing in Who's Number One for the second time. His first appearance came in 2023 when he fell in overtime to current Senior World team member Jax Forrest in a wild, 33-point overtime shootout that some consider the greatest match in Who's Number One history. Raney missed much of the 2024-25 high school season due to injury but looked to be back to his regular, high-paced style in Fargo where he dominated his way to the finals and defeated Kellen Wolbert for the title.

Match History

Raney and Bassett met once previously in the round of 32 in a loaded 2022 16U Fargo bracket. That match lasted 2:44 and included a takedown in the first two seconds, seven lead changes, and 17 points all before Raney locked up a cradle for a fall. Since that time, both wrestlers have improved immensely and racked up stacks of accolades in the three years since that match, but they've both maintained their high paces and fearless approaches to the sport. All of that suggests that this bout could be one of the most entertaining in Who's Number One history.
