Camryn Howard vs Wyatt Medlin Set For Who's Number One At 157 lbs
#1 Wyatt Medlin will take on #2 Camryn Howard for the nation's top spot at 157 lbs at Who's Number One on October 11 in Coralville, Iowa.
Illinois senior Wyatt Medlin and New York sophomore Camryn Howard will square off for the nation's #1 spot at 157 lbs on October 11 at Who's Number One. This will be the first meeting between the two in their high school careers.
Camryn Howard ended his scholastic high school season with a dramatic state title in which he gave up the first takedown but ended the bout in the first period with a reversal and a fall. He followed that up with an NHSCA freshman title in March and a Fargo stop sign in July. Howard's Fargo bracket was probably the toughest of the 16U division. He had victories over both #3 Asher Bacon and #5 Justus Heeg en route to the crown.

Illinois commit Wyatt Medlin has been a staple on the national stage for the last few years. He's a two-time Illinois state champ who regularly makes podium appearances at tough tournaments Ironman and the US Open. This summer he reached the Fargo finals in both freestyle and Greco-Roman and brought home the Greco stop sign.

This will be the first meeting between Howard and Medlin. Howard is a leg-attacker with persistent finishes. Medlin is one of the top hand fighters in high school wrestling. He's hard to get out of position and even harder to score on. This is likely to be one of the most competitive bouts of the night at Who's Number One.
