2019-20 New Jersey High School Rankings

New Jersey High School Rankings: 285

History was made in the upperweights in 2020 when Jimmy Mullen became the state’s first-ever freshman heavyweight champ. Come to think of it, has there ever been three underclassmen win state titles at the heaviest three weight classes? I highly doubt it.

This was a pretty wild state tournament bracket. The biggest mover here was runner-up JT Cornelius who flew up the rankings after a dream state tournament where he knocked off the returning finalist Estevez in the quarters, before eventually falling to Mullen in the finals.

North Hunterdon’s Liam Akers put an exclamation point on North Hunterdon’s best season in school history with his seventh-place finish.
