2019-20 New Jersey High School Rankings

New Jersey High School Rankings: 152

By Brendan Scannell

This feels like the weight that, come mid-February, we may see some guys from 145 and 160 move up or down to test the waters. This one is equally up for grabs as the weight prior.

I gave Mooney the slight edge here because he owns the highest state finish at 152, and slightly better wins. The other returning placers, Strashinksy and Boggiano, are new to the weight. Strashinsky will be coming up from 138 and Boggiano from 145, but both guys are very much in the mix to take over that top spot.

Poniros battled injuries all season last year resulting in a disappointing finish in Atlantic City, but he took seventh at a tough 132lb weight class two years ago. If he can get back to full form this season, he will certainly be a contender at this weight.

The top three seem to have a bit of separation from the rest of the group, but maybe someone new will establish himself during the season.
