America's Proudest Wrestling Moments
Happy Fourth of July! Let's celebrate America's birthday with some of our favorite moments in USA wrestling history!

Happy birthday, America!
While you all enjoy barbeque, cold ones, awesome explosions, and thoughtful reflections on our great republic's many splendors, we here at FloHQ thought it would be fun to fill up the website with our favorite moments in USA Wrestling history. Also so we could set this all up ahead of time and enjoy the national holiday with barbeque, cold ones, and awesome explosions as well.
I'll go first. I will always remember the 1996 Olympic opening ceremony for the insanely boss manner in which Bruce Baumgartner fulfilled his flag-bearing responsibilities.
Look at this hero. An absolute stud.

Let's zoom in closer if we can.

How tremendously badass.
A lot of you young folks may not realize just what a high the United States of America was on during the summer of 1996. We had won the Cold War, Hollywood was having a hard time coming up with credible villains, and we were winning every international sporting event in sight.
And then here comes our two-time Olympic gold-winning, 13-time world medalist, heavyweight wrestler, New Jersey native Bruce Baumgartner, holding Old Glory in one hand like it's a dang pinwheel, leading the most dominant group of athletes in the history of the world on to our home turf for what was basically the coronation of the American Century.
What a glorious moment indeed. Now let's watch this video and hoist one up to all our friends and allies in this splendiferous time to be an American.
Check out the rest of the team's picks: CP | Nick V | Holmes | Joe K | Bader | Mike Mal | Nomad | Willie | Willie again
Cheers, my friends.
