Ryan Holmes remembers not the moment Kenny Monday won Olympic gold at the 1988 Games in Seoul, but what that moment meant to him and so many others.

Obviously, I'm not old enough to have any memory of the match when it happened. I was almost a year old at the time. But years later I remember talking with my dad about the match, then I came across a video of it and we watched it together. Talking to my dad about the positions and the incredible ending made it have a bigger impact on me. And now knowing Kenny Monday makes it even more of a favorite moment of mine.
