Gibson captured a Division 3 state championship last season, finishing 33-1. He was fifth in the state the previous two seasons and owns a 124-16 career record, 77-6 the past two years. Prior to the delayed start of last season, Gibson picked up a pair of impressive wins at national duals competitions. At State Based National High School Duals, he beat North Carolina state champion Jackson Baglio. At Christmas Sparty Duals, Gibson knocked off two-time Montana state champion Krayle Stormer.
