2024 Olympic Wrestling Rankings

57 kg - Stevan Micic

As the 2023 World Champion, Stevan Micic takes the top spot at 57 kg leading into the 2024 Olympics. At 2023 Worlds, Micic defeated Zelimkhan Abakarov, Zaur Uguev, and Rei Higuchi.

Abakarov comes in at #2 based on his win over Zaur Uguev for bronze at 2023 Worlds and for his performance at 2022 Worlds. Abakarov won a 2022 World Title by impressively defeating Thomas Gilman, Stevan Micic, and Gulomjon Abdullaev.

While Uguev lost to both Micic and Abakarov at 2023 Worlds, he's the defending Olympic champion and two-time world champion. Uguev has career wins over just about everyone in the weight at 57 kg and will be a title contender in Paris.

Even though he won silver at 2023 Worlds, Rei Higuchi comes in at the #4 spot. Higuchi was on the much "easier" side of the bracket in Belgrade and didn't wrestle Abakarov or Uguev to get the finals.

Note that this is only a ranking of countries that have already qualified for the Olympics. There are still 11 more spots at each weight - 2 at the Pan-Am Qualifier (February 28-March 1), the African Qualifier (March 22-24), the European Qualifier (April 5-7), the Asian Qualifier (April 19-21),  and the World Olympic Games Qualifier (May 9-12). Once those qualifications are earned, the rankings will be updated.

As always, we’d love to hear your feedback - if you have thoughts or questions send them over by email to Jonathan.Kozak@flosports.tv or @KozakJon on Twitter.
