2021-22 Michigan High School Rankings: 140

Gilcher, ranked No. 5 in the nation at 138 pounds and No. 38 on the Class of 2023 Big Board, captured his third state championship this season and finished 39-0. He owns a 108-4 career record.

Gilcher cemented his national reputation with wins over nationally-ranked state champions Tyler Kasak (Pennsylvania, No. 2 at 145) and Ryder Block (Iowa, No. 10 at 138) at last year's Cadet World Trials. Gilcher was fourth in U20 United States Open freestyle competition in April. He beat NCAA qualifier Ryan Jack, a North Carolina State sophomore, and Arizona's Kaleb Larkin, an Arizona State commit who is No. 4 in the national rankings at 145.
