Gonzales, who has committed to Brown, captured his third consecutive state championship this season, finishing 49-0. He boasts a 176-3 career record, including last season and finished unbeaten for the second straight year.

Gonzales finished seventh in the 152-pound freestyle competition last year in Fargo. Along the way, Gonzales bested Michael Kilic, a two-time Georgia state champion who is ranked No. 8 in the nation at 152.
