149: The Return Of Jason Tsirtsis

There are a couple lineup battles still being fought that will affect the 149-pound rankings. Jason Tsirtsis got the start against All-American Max Thomsen at the Virginia Duals. That, plus Tsirtsis outplacing his teammate Josh Maruca at Midlands appears to point toward Tsirtsis being in the lead for the spot, at least for now. With a win over Matt Kolodzik and no bad losses at 149, Tsirtsis enters the top 20 at #10.

In the contest for the starting job in Stillwater, OK, Boo Lewallen once again wrestled in the most recent Oklahoma State dual meet, Sunday's main event in Iowa City, Iowa. Therefore, Boo stays in the lineup and in the top 20. And upon further review, NC State’s Beau Donahue gets a bump in the rankings to account for his win over Lewallen.

Further down the rankings, Michael Sprague lost to Cortandt Schuyler but doesn’t fall much in the rankings thanks to his strong resume, which includes a win over #5 Troy Heilmann.

Finally, Ronnie Perry sneaks into the top 20 with a win over the formerly 20th-ranked Davion Jeffries.
