2019 International Rankings - Men's Freestyle

Sadulaev #1 In P4P

By Seth Petarra (@SethPetar)

#5 Frank Chamizo (ITA) drops down one spot in the P4P rankings to #6 due to a 5-3 loss in the finals of the Korkin to #7(74) Nikita Suchkov (RUS). Taking the #5 spot is three-time World/Olympic champ Taha Akgul (TUR).

Khetik Tsabolov (RUS) and Magomed Kurbanaliev (RUS) move up two spots and three spots respectively to #10 and #11 in the rankings. While both of them did lose at Russian Nationals (Tsabolov to #16 Zaurbek Sidakov, Kurbanaliev to UR Arpak Sat), their overall body of work that they’ve amassed plus the P4P wins they have lets them stay high in the rankings. Tsabolov’s P4P wins include #2 Hassan Yazdani Charati, #12 Akhmed Gadzhimagomedov, #15 David Taylor, #16 Zaurbek Sidakov, while Kurbanaliev’s body of work has wins over the likes of #6 Frank Chamizo, #13 Ilyas Bekbulatov (RUS), #16 Zaurbek Sidakov (RUS), #19 Magomedrasul Gazimagomedov (RUS),#20 Zurab Iakobishvili (GEO), and  #21 Soslan Ramonov (RUS).)

#10 Ilyas Bekbulatov (RUS) drops down three spots due to inactivity. #11 Zurab Iakobishvili (GEO) drops down nine spots to #20 in the rankings because after further evaluation when one considers his P4P wins (#21 Ramonov and #22 Gadzhiev) against the likes of the aforementioned Tsabolov, Kurbanaliev, Bekbulatov, Dake (#4 Burroughs, 3x World champ Denis Tsargush), Taylor (#2 Hassan Yazdani Charati), Sidakov (#6 Chamizo, #10 Tsabolov), Tsakulov (#18 Alborov who beat #3 Snyder in July at the Yasar Dogu), and Gazimagomedov (#2 Yazdani Charati, #6 Chamizo, #10 Tsabolov) it was clear that Iakobishvili had to drop in the rankings.

Russian National champ Zaurbek Sidakov (RUS) debuts in the rankings at #16 off the strength off wins over #10 Khetik Tsabolov at Nationals this year plus a win last year at the Alans in November over #6 Frank Chamizo.

Batyrbek Tsakulov (RUS) moved up seven spots in the rankings off the strength of his win in the Ali Aliyev finals in May at 92 KG over #18 Aslanbek Alborov (AZE), who upset 3x World/Olympic champ #3 Kyle Snyder (USA) at the Yasar Dogu in July. #16 Soslan Ramonov (RUS) drops down five spots to #21 due to a loss in the semifinals of the Korkin to UR Evgeni Zherbaev (RUS).
