Brayden Mirjavadi avenged an earlier loss to Rockford's Ryan Ahern with a 3-2 decision in the Division 1, 190-pound state championship match. Mirjavadi finished the season 52-4, including wins over Division 2 state champion Easton Phipps (Goodrich) and Division 2, 215-pound state runner-up Joey Scaramuzzino (Croswell-Lexington). 

Mirjavadi was second in the state last season and went 1-2 at the state tournament as a sophomore. His record the past three seasons is 106-12.
