Ranked #3 in the country at 126, Horwath, a future Michigan Wolverine, captured his fourth Division 1 state championship and finished 22-1, but unbeaten against Michigan wrestlers. 

Horwath finished with a 122-3 high school record, 79-1 the past three seasons, including multiple wins over four-time Division 3 state champion and 2021 Fargo winner Braeden Davis of Dundee (#4, 126). Horwath, #21 on the Class of 2023 Big Board, won the 130-pound Grappler Fall Classic title in 2022, beating two-time Georgia state 3 champion Amantee Mills along with way.

In July, Horwath become a Fargo All-American for the third time, placing second in Junior Freestyle, 120-pound competition. Horwath was also a Super 32 champion in 2020.
