The Wrestlers
Kyle Dake
Kyle Dake was the first NCAA wrestler to win four NCAA titles at four different weights. Since then he has won two World titles.
Frank Chamizo
Originally from Cuba, Frank Chamizo has won four World medals including gold in 2015 and 2017 as well as a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics.
David Taylor
"The Magic Man" got his nickname for his impressive wrestling style. Taylor has been dominant at every level of the sport since he was in middle school coming to a climax at the 2018 World Championships were he defeated two-time World champion and Olympic gold medalist Hassan Yazdanicharati or Iran and won gold.
Myles Martin
Myles Martin is a 2016 NCAA national champion and four-time All-American never placing lower than fifth. In 2017 the New Jersey native won UWW University Nationals as well.
Luke Pletcher
New Pittsburgh assistant coach Luke Pletcher recently finished his career at Ohio State as a three-time All-American and Big Ten champion. This past season Pletcher made incredible jumps and was the top seed for the 2020 NCAA Championships.
Darrion Caldwell
2009 NCAA champion Darrion Caldwell will be making his return to the sport of wrestling for the first time since 2012. The three-time New Jersey sate champion has been fighting MMA since retiring from wrestling. An all around athlete, Caldwell won the Bellator Bantamweight World Championship in 2017.
Roman Bravo-Young
The youngest wrestler on the card, Roman Bravo-Young recently completed his sophomore year at Penn State University where he is an All-American and was in the hunt for the national title this season. In freestyle RBY has won multiple Fargo national titles, made the 2016 Cadet World Team, and brought home Junior Pan Am gold last summer.
Jack Mueller
Jack Mueller was an NCAA finalist for Virginia in 2019. His freestyle accolades include two-time Fargo national champion and U23 World bronze medalist. He recently signed with the NYCRTC, reuniting him with his childhood coach Olympic champion Kendall Cross.
Vito Arujau
A 2019 NCAA All-American for Cornell, Vito Arujau truly excels in freestyle wrestling. The New York native has made the finals of both Cadet and Junior Worlds and is already qualified for the Olympic Team Trials.
Sammy Alvarez
Alvarez went 26-10 in his true freshman year at Rutgers after transferring from NC State. He was the 10 seed entering this year's NCAA championships that didn't happen and is currently sixth in our preseason rankings.
