Jack Mueller has decided on his senior level destination. He will be joining the NYC RTC to further his freestyle career.

The 2019 NCAA finalist will be reuniting with Olympic gold medalist Kendall Cross, his longtime coach from his youth days in Texas. Cross is the full-time freestyle coach for the NYC RTC, which is affiliated with Columbia and trains out of the EDGE compound in Hoboken.

A two-time All-American for Virginia who was seeded fourth at this year's NCAA championships, Mueller has had a great deal of success in freestyle. He won Fargo twice and made the U23 world team in 2018, wrestling for a bronze medal that year in Bucharest.

Mueller recently joined The Bader Show to share his story about how he found out the national tournament was cancelled and what his plans are for his senior level freestyle career. He had not yet announced at this time that he would be joining the NYC RTC, where he is expected to wrestle 57kg for Olympic years but may spend some time up at 61kg during world championship years.

In addition to his two Fargo titles, Mueller made another Junior Fargo final, wrestled in the challenge tournament finals of Junior trials in 2015 and finishing third in the challenge tournament of the 2017 JR trials. The last time we saw him wrestle freestyle was Beat the Streets in 2019 and shortly thereafter at the WTT challenge tournament.
