What Is Army's Connection With McKendree Women's Wrestling?

The United States Army has an internal unit called the World Class Athlete Program (WCAP). It allows elite Soldier-athletes to train for and compete in the Olympic and Paralympic Games while serving on active duty, in the Army Reserve, or National Guard. Based at Fort Carson, Colorado, WCAP provides resources for athletes to train full-time and compete at the national/international level.

McKendree Wins Inaugural NCAA Women's Wrestling Title

McKendree University won the inaugural NCAA Women’s Wrestling Championships with a down-to-the-wire finish against the University of Iowa. The Bearcats held an 8.5-point lead entering the finals with five finalists to Iowa’s four.

Iowa And McKendree In Tight Team Race Entering NCAA Finals

McKendree had a monster semifinal round, sending five to the finals to take an 8.5-point lead over Iowa. The Hawkeyes are still in contention after sending four to the finals, including returning national champions Reese Larramendy (145), Kennedy Blades (160), and Kylie Welker (180). Val Solorio (103) is competing in her first national tournament after competing at 110 last season.
