Meet the Champions

1A:   Charles Jagusah - Alleman, Junior 41-0

2A:   Dillan Johnson - Joliet Catholic, Sophomore 34-0

3A:   Ryan Boersma - Chicago Mount Carmel, Senior 40-2

Alleman's Charles Jagusah held off IC Catholic from taking home another bracket board and earned the top stop at 1A capping off a perfect season.

2A and 3A showcased some of the best heavyweight talent in the country and the big boys didn't disappoint. In 3A, Ryan Boersma gave Chicago Mount Carmel their fourth individual title of the night as he took home his second state title by defeating Sandburg's Zimmer in the finals.

In 2A, Sophomore Dillan Johnson tore through his bracket recording four pins and was never tested by the field en route to his second state title.  It was also Joliet Catholic's second individual title of the night.

Much like 132, this is a weight where you know you are watching two of the best and their paths never cross.  Boersma, who is nationally ranked in the top 10 and whose only losses occurred at the Ironman in November retains the top spot, but this is not to say that Johnson resume is not as worthy.  With Boersma exiting high school and shifting towards what will likely be a very successful college career, Johnson will come in next year, without question, as the man to beat at heavyweight.
