61 - Abasgadzhi Magomedov

Though he hasn’t yet competed at a senior world championships, Abasgadzhi Magomedov is the clear favorite at the 2021 World Championships. Magomedov has won 5 major senior level tournaments in a row including Russian Nationals, The 2021 Yarygin and the 2021 European Championships. 

Any of the competitors ranked 2nd-10th could realistically make the finals opposite Magomedov. Beka Lomtadze was the 61kg world champion in 2019 (where he defeated Tyler Graff) and has a past win over Gvarzatilov from 2019 August of 2019. Daton Fix is ranked in the lower half of the top 10 because of his lack of experience at 61 and lack of results against the rest of the top 10. The competitors ranked above Fix have been more active on the senior level and experienced more success at 61kg.
