Thomas Gilman is reportedly the only Olympic medalist at 57kg who will also participate in the 2021 World Championships. With Gilman’s dominant win over Gulomjon Abdullaev (UZB) from Tokyo, the two greatest challenges to Gilman should be considered Suleyman Atli and Abubakar Mutaliev. Both Atli and Mutaliev have past wins over Gilman. Mutaliev defeated Gilman twice in 2019 and Atli split with Gilman in 2018.
