2021 Big Ten Rankings

125

Obvious #1 here - the returning Hodge Trophy Award winner Spencer Lee. He is the two-time reigning 125-lb NCAA champ and will be a very heavy favorite to so again this year. Rayvon Foley comes in at #2 after taking last season off. In 2019 the Spartan took 7th at the NCAA Championships.

The rest of the pack at 125 can be quite confusing. For example, Devin Schroder went 26-5 and finished #2 in the Big Ten last season, but also went 0-1 vs Liam Cronin. Justin Cardani split with Medley, Aguilar, and Heinselman last season, but took the last loss in all of those series. I could go on, but this description would be entirely too long.

King Sandoval moving down to 125 is a nice surprise. He had a good redshirt year there before wrestling at 133 his freshman year last season.

While Brandon Meredith is still included here at #14, it's highly suspected that we could see true freshman Robbie Howard for Penn State.

Just a reminder, true freshmen are automatically ranked last as they have no college wrestling experience or resume. If you have any comments, questions, concerns, or just want to yell at me, you can find me on Twitter @rader_jd or email me at jd.rader@flosports.tv.
