2023 World Championship Rankings

86 kg - David Taylor

David Taylor and Hassan Yazdani come in at the top 2 spots with Taylor holding a 4-1 career record over Yazdani. While it's clear they are the top 2 at the weight, the addition of Dauren Kurugliev and Arslan Bagaev to the weight makes 86kg even more interesting at this year's worlds. Kurugliev is a Russian transfer now competing for Greece.

At the 2018 world championships, Kurugliev lost competitive matches to both David Taylor (7-5) and Hassan Yazdani (11-5). Despite Kurugliev's impressive results in the past, Myles Amine defeated Kurugliev at the Ranking Series event in Budapest and comes in at #4 in these rankings.

Arslan Bagaev is another dangerous wrestler to watch out for at worlds. Bagaev recently won Russian Nationals in a bracket that included world/Olympic bronze medalist Artur Naifonov.
