2023 World Championship Rankings

65 kg - Takuto Otoguro

2020 Olympic Champion Takuto Otoguro is returning to competition after taking the entirety of the 2022 season off. Because Otoguro took last year off, he doesn't have any rankings points and will be randomly drawn into the bracket at 65kg. After Otoguro, 2022 World Champion Rahman Amouzad has established himself as the next-best wrestler in the world at 65kg. Amouzad hasn't lost since the 2021 world championships when he competed at 61kg. In that time frame, Amouzad has strung together an impressive list of wins over the likes of Yianni Diakomihalis (X2), Tulga Tumur-Ochir, Ismail Musukaev, Haji Aliyev, and Bajrang Punia.

Though Nick Lee defeated Yianni Diakomihalis at Final X in two straight matches, Lee still comes in at #8 in these rankings. Lee competed at the Zagreb Open this past February and lost to Ismail Musukave, 11-0.
