Pennsylvania High School Wrestling Mini Boards

Class of 2024

The 2024 class in Pennsylvania is also very strong, with some of the guys on this list having breakout performances while the top wrestlers continued to dominate. Despite dealing with injuries throughout the year, including an ankle injury at the state tournament, Rune Lawrence was able to finish his junior season with a third PIAA AA state title and finished the year with 33 falls! Lawrence will look to become just the 14th four-time PIAA champion next season.

Sean Kinney is another impressive pinner in Pennsylvania, as he finished the year 35-0 with 29 falls for his second straight PIAA title after finishing as the runner-up as a freshman back in 2021. Conner Harer was third at Super 32 back in the fall and followed that up by going 49-1 for his second PIAA AA title. Along the way, Harer’s lone loss on the year was a 3-2 setback to two-time AAA state champion Ty Watters, while Harer defeated his state finals opponent Cameron Milheim six times this season!

Despite missing much of the last two seasons due to injury, Mason Gibson won a Fargo Junior title last summer and was a runner-up at Super 32 in a very strong 126-pound field back in October which helped him earn the #4 ranking in the junior class. Gibson is part of the loaded lightweights of Bishop McCourt, so he will not be competing in PIAA competition for the remainder of his high school career but make no mistake, he is still one of the top wrestlers in all of Pennsylvania.

Tucker Hogan slots in at #6 on the list after completing a 44-0 season for his first PIAA AAA crown. Ayden Smith won his first state title after bumping up to 114 pounds late in the season and also was fourth at the U17 World Team Trials last month to slot in at #8 in the junior class of Pennsylvania.
