A junior at Gilroy, Daniel Zepeda is the #23 overall recruit in the class of 2025. A California state champ, Zepeda will be taking on Bo Bassett at Who’s Number One on September 2nd. We recently spoke to Zepeda to get an inside look at his recruitment process.

U20 Nationals (formerly known as UWW Junior Nationals) is one of my favorite age-level tournaments every year. The top high school upperclassmen get to test themselves against the best first or second-year college guys who are often hungry to compete coming out of redshirt. It's the first step in making the Junior World Team as the winner of this event will earn an automatic berth to the best-of-three wrestle-off series against the World Team Trials challenge tournament champion in June.

On the Senior level, the US Open will set the stage for Final X, but there's plenty to watch at the U17 and U20 divisions as well. The U17 division will conclude with a best-of-three series that will decide the World Team, shake up the high school rankings, and establish some wrestlers' cases to be in Who's Number One. High Schoolers in the U20 division will compete against other elite peers but will also test themselves against guys who have been seasoned in college rooms for a year or two.

On Friday and Saturday, many of the nation's best high school wrestlers travel to California to test themselves and earn an iconic Doc B cowboy hat. Here are the top 16 pre-seeds for every weight.

The Reno TOC annually puts together some of the deepest high school weight classes in the Western half of the United States. This year, over 20 nationally ranked high schoolers will attempt to navigate massive brackets to claim Reno TOC glory.
