2022-23 NCAA DI Rankings

Yianni Diakomihalis

Paniro Johnson secured the upset of the weekend when he took out Austin Gomez in the dual between Iowa State and Wisconsin. Johnson jumps all the way up to the #9 spot but fails to move higher due to his losses last year against Drew Roberts, Blaine Brenner, and Chance Lamer. For a similar reason, Gomez only drops a few spots because of his overall body of work last season highlighted by wins over Ridge Lovett, Sammy Sasso, and Yahya Thomas.

Caleb Henson was the other notable freshman to move into the rankings. He won the Southeast Open with a win over Sam Hillegas in the finals. Prior to that match, Hillegas notably defeated Jarod Verkleeren.
