2020-21 Wisconsin High School Rankings

2020-21 Wisconsin High School Rankings: 113

Caleb Meunier and Alec Hunter have strikingly similar resumes. After you discount Hunter's loss to Justin Groshek, you are left with one loss each: Meunier's to Ed Wilkowski and Hunter's to Wyatt Kaczrowski. They both have decent wins, though Hunter has more. Meunier ends up ahead based on two things: a 10-2 transitive win over Kaczrowski and the fact that his loss was all the way up at 126 pounds.

Tanner Gerber's "few good wins/no bad losses" resume comes in ahead of Jaden Bird's "lots of good wins/lots of justifiable losses" resume. Sam Smith defeated Remington Bontreger, who defeated Troy Dolphin (via defensive pin about to go down 16-11, mid-second period!). Kaczrowski's loss to unranked Josh Frye takes the shine off his Hunter win and lands him here. All of Michael Smith's 12 losses (save one) are to guys ranked higher, graduating seniors who would be ranked higher, or out-of-state guys, and his loss to Devon Harbison at Mid-States is offset by his Jaden Bird win at state. Cody Goebel's upset loss to Fahad Aziz at sectionals prevented him from climbing higher, but he still gets the nod though over Quintin Wolbert and Oscar Wilkowski, by the slimmest of margins.
