In 2A, Joliet Catholic and Washington will have some highly-ranked wrestlers with records that do not look impressive on paper. However, considering several of those losses took place in events like Ironman, Flavin, and The Clash, these wrestlers will be extremely battle-tested come the state series. For the Hillmen, Avina is the first of these after a strong showing at Geneseo against 2A competition.

Avina finished fourth at Geneseo with a win over Ruckman, Ruckman gets a win over Sebastian who placed fifth. Turner won RC.
