2021-22 National Girls High School Rankings

180

USA Wrestling, FloWrestling and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum have published the November 2021 rankings for high school girls wrestlers for the 2021-22 season. This national ranking evaluates all girls enrolled in grades 8-12, and athletes from all 50 states are eligible for selection.

It has been a busy preseason of action including major events including Who’s No. 1, Super 32, the USA Wrestling Preseason Nationals, the Ultimate Club Duals, FreakShow and many other preseason events in both folkstyle and freestyle.

New No. 1 ranked wrestlers since September Preseason Rankings include Brianna Gonzalez of California (100), Jaclyn Dehney of New Hampshire (117), Janida Garcia of California (132) and Destiny Rodriguez of Oregon (144).

Wrestlers who have retained their No. 1 rankings include Audrey Jimenez of Arizona (106), Cecilia Williams of Michigan (112), Katie Gomez of California (122, moved up from 117), Savannah Cosme of Colorado (127), Korina Blades of Illinois (138), Emit Elor of California (152), Kylie Welker of Wisconsin (164), Sabrina Nauss of Michigan (180), Sam Calkins of California (200) and Eliana Bommarito of Michigan (225).

The Pound-For-Pound (P-4-P) rankings were also updated. The athlete who moved up within the top five was Katie Gomez of California, who is now at No. 4. There are six new athletes who have joined the P-4-P rankings, Skylar Hattendorf of New Hampshire (No. 11), Brianna Gonzalez of California (No. 13), Reese Larramendy of Nevada (No. 19), Cadence Diduch of Illinois (No. 23), Nyla Valencia of California (No. 24) and Ella Pagel of Minnesota (No. 25).

The next National Girls High School Ranking will be in early January, with early-season high school competition and holiday tournaments included in the assessment.

The committee is seeking input from leaders on the state level, with information on the strongest high school girls regular-season tournaments on the state and regional level. In addition, information on athletes who score a ranked win (a victory over a ranked wrestler) is also appreciated.

Coaches, parents and athletes are encouraged to provide information about specific athletes and their achievements throughout the year for the committee to consider. If they have information on specific girls who should be considered for ranking or updates on their achievements, please send it by email to girlsrankings@usawrestling.org. The quality of these rankings continue to improve as people choose to share updated information.
