2020-21 Missouri High School Rankings

2020-21 Missouri High School Rankings: 145

COVID-19 has made it difficult to gauge the growth of the wrestlers, and the weights will more than likely change. Even if someone has wrestled in the summer, he will most likely be at a different weight in the future. Also, Missouri doesn’t release team classifications until the beginning of the season, so classes for teams and wrestlers could change. One big change is Class 1 powerhouse Whitfield will probably be moving up to Class 3 after winning the last four Class 1 titles and six of the last eight. All rankings are based on weights from last year.

By far the most loaded weight class in the state with the top three ranked in the Missouri P4P rankings. #1 is Oklahoma State recruit Teague Travis of Father Tolten High School. Father Tolten has produced Division I wrestlers in Jaydin Eierman, Brock Mauller, and Jarrett Jacques, and Travis looks to continue that tradition and is currently ranked #56 on the 2021 Big Board.

Travis is followed by #78 on the 2021 Big Board Nathan Pulliam of Rolla. Pulliam took fourth at a loaded Junior Fargo freestyle bracket at 132. A former Preseason Nationals champion, he has only lost one time in his high school career in the state finals when he was a freshman. He is a 115-1 in his high school career.

Closely behind these two is Ethen Miller’s little brother Kal (also committed to Mizzou) who was a 2019 NHSCA freshman high school national champion. Miller’s only losses last year came at the hands of Wyatt Henson (in a tiebreaker) and to Mick Burnett at Ironman. Miller is currently ranked #76 on the 2022 Big Board.

Under the radar is Gavin Gross of Odessa, a two-time Class 2 state champion; his only loss last year was to Kal Miller in the finals of the Winnetonka Tournament.
