2020-21 NCAA D1 Pretend Preseason Rankings

174

The NCAA has decided not to grant winter sport athletes another year of eligibility. These preseason rankings, however, have been assembled presupposing that those extra years were granted and that everyone elected to return and compete. We had to make a bunch of other assumptions too since it's April and all sorts of speculative lineup decisions have yet to be hypothetically made. So best not to take these too seriously, even though it would be incredibly cool if it happened. But no, only in our dreams. As real as it may seem, it will only occur in our dreams.

How great would another season of three-time NCAA finalist and one-time champ Mark Hall be? Alas, we can only imagine. Now also imagine Myles Amine coming off Olympic redshirt and David McFadden moving back up to 174 (in order to fit both he and Mekhi Lewis in the Hokie lineup). And also add another year for Kutler, Lydy and Steiert. That moves All-Americans Skatzka and Labriola out of the top eight. Incredibly gnarly weight class.

174 also adds depth from Devin Kane and Matt Finesilver coming off redshirt and starting for their respective tobacco road institutions.
