Pound for Pound

While there were 11 wrestlers in the pound for pound rankings who competed at the world championships, only two wrestlers’ performance resulted in movement - Hassan Yazdani and Amir Zare. Hassan Yazdani finally defeated David Taylor and moves to the #4 spot, sliding Taylor down to #5. 

Amir Zare defeated both #10 Taha Akgul and #11 Geno Petriashvili vaulting him into the pound for pound list. While Zare was unranked in the pound for pound going into worlds, it’s worth noting that he did hold a win over Petriashvili from November of 2019.
