2023 International Wrestling Rankings - Men's Freestyle

65 Gadzhimurad Rashidov

Bajrang Punia entered the Ali Aliev in preparation for Tokyo yet injury defaulted to Abdulmazhid Kudiev during their semi-final match. After the Bajrang match, Kudiev went on to defeat Ramazan Ferzaliev in the finals 13-9. This, coincidentally, was also a rematch of the bronze medal match at 2021 Russian Nationals. There, Kudiev won by tech fall, 10-0. Despite Kudiev’s win, he does not move ahead of Bajrang. Injury defaults are not counted for rankings purposes. Prior to the semis, Punia won a dominant 9-0 match over Daulet Niyazbekov in a rematch of the 2019 World Semis.

At the Yasar Dogu, Alibek Osmanov (KGZ) looks to be an unranked wrestler to watch. Osmanov won gold after receiving a forfeit from #10 Ernazar Akmataliev (KGZ) in the finals. Again, because it was a forfeit, he will not move into the rankings.
