Sergey Kozyrev won the World Olympic qualifier over unranked, and surprise finalist, Sumit Malik (IND). Kozyrev's best win at the Olympic Qualifier came over #13 Robert Baran in the quarter-finals in a controlling 7-1 victory. Aiaal Lazarev (KGZ) was the only other ranked wrestler at the qualifier at 125kg (at the time) and he was upset by Sumit Malik (IND). Because of Malik’s upset win and unlikely run to the finals, he earns the final spot in the rankings at 125kg.
