2026 Men's Freestyle International Wrestling Rankings

97 kg - Kyle Snyder

Amirali Azarpira (#3): Jumps from #9 to #3 by beating #4 Arash Yoshida at the Asian Games. This is unique because Azarpira lost two matches to Hassan Yazdani in their world team wrestle-off. Therefore, Azarpira won't be at the World Championships. Despite losing to Yazdani, Azarpira deserves to be ranked ahead of Yazdani because of results at the weight. Azarpira now has victories over Kyle Snyder, Arash Yoshida, Akhmed Tazhudinov, and Rizabek Aitmukhan at 97 kg. Compare that to Hassan Yazdani's limited results at 97 kg that even includes a loss to Stephen Buchanan this year and it's clear Yazdani doesn't have the resume to move up with Azarpira.

Arash Yoshida (#4): Slips one spot after losing to Azarpira in the Asian Games semifinal, following a win over Rizabek Aitmukhan (#5).

Mohammadmobin Azimi (#10) after reaching the U23 Worlds semifinals and taking bronze, losing to Mukhamed-Takhir Khaniev.

Zbigniew Baranowski (#11): Jumps from #20 to #11 after Ziolkowski wins over #18 Stephen Buchanan and #12 Givi Matcharashvili.

Stephen Buchanan (#18): Falls from #12 to #18 after losing to Baranowski and Uri Kalashnikov at Ziolkowski.

Mustafagadzhi Malachdibirov (#15): Enters the rankings with a Khadartsev Cup win over #16 Magomedkhan Magomedov.
