2024-25 National High School Girls Wrestling Rankings

135 pounds

USA Wrestling, FloWrestling and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum has published the National Rankings for high school girls wrestlers for April 2025. This national ranking evaluates all girls enrolled in grades 8-12, and athletes from all 50 states are eligible for selection.

These rankings have heavily impacted by two major USA Wrestling events, the Women’s Nationals in Spokane, Wash., along with the National Girls High School Recruiting Showcase in Las Vegas, Nev., In addition, all of USA Wrestling’s Regional competitions were evaluated, as well as a number of other national and state-level competitions.

With the Women’s Nationals serving as a World Team Trials event at the U15, U17, U20 and U23 levels, a number of athletes changed weight classes in order to try out for Team USA.

With the addition of weight classes in the post-season competition, the committee has brought back the 95-pound weight class (which is not included in most state high school seasons). The #1 wrestler in this month’s ranking at 95 pounds is Madison Healey of Pennsylvania.

Those who have remained ranked #1 but at different weight classes are Jaclyn Bouzakis of Pennsylvania (100), Morgan Turner of Illinois (105) and Everest Leydecker of Arizona (120).

Four other new #1 athletes in this ranking are Heather Crull of Indiana (110), Emma Bacon of Pennsylvania (125), Daniella Nugent of Massachusetts (140) and Tilisa Matakaiongo of Utah (235).

The athletes who remained at #1 at the same weight class are Epenesa Elison of California (115), Aubre Krazer of Pennsylvania (130), Taina Fernandez of Maryland (135), Violette Lasure of Pennsylvania (145), Piper Fowler of Tennessee (170) and Brooke Huffman of Wisconsin (190).

The Pound-For-Pound (P-4-P) rankings had significant changes, including a new #1 athlete, Everest Leydecker of Arizona, who has qualified for Senior-level Final X, won the Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament, and earned a spot  on the U.S. U20 World Team.

Rounding out the top five of the Pound-For-Pound rankings are #1 Leydecker, #2 Fernandez, #3 Bouzakis, #4 Crull and #5 Fowler. Athletes who have moved up into the top 25 in the P-4-P are #13 Abbi Cooper of California, #14 Daniella Nugent of Massachusetts, #19 Tilisa Matakaiongo of Utah, #21 Cassandra Gonzales of Minnesota, #23 Taylor Whiting of Wisconsin and #24 Harlee Hiller of Illinois.

The final ranking for the year will be posted in early July prior to the annual USMC Junior and 16U Nationals in Fargo, N.D. The final ranking will include assessment of USA Wrestling’s Women’s National Duals in Westfield, Ind. in June, as well as the rest of the major national-level competitions organized by a variety of wrestling organizations.

Coaches, parents and athletes are encouraged to provide information about specific athletes and their achievements throughout the year for the committee to consider. If they have information on specific girls who should be considered for ranking or updates on their achievements, please send it by email to girlsrankings@usawrestling.org. The quality of these rankings continue to improve as people choose to share updated information.
