2024 Dan Hodge Trophy Award Rankings

2024 Dan Hodge Trophy Rankings

The return of the NWCA All-Star Classic and non-D1 matches no longer counting on official records added an extra wrench into things. As the Hodge is awarded based on votes and voters will likely be influenced by the outcome of those matches, I thought it was best to include all results in my data. However, I did not include any medical forfeits and/or injury defaults as they can skew bonus point numbers.

Hodge Trophy Voting Criteria:

1 – Record

2 – Dominance/Bonus-Point Percentage

3 – Quality of Competition

4 – Sportsmanship

Izzak Olejnik, Real Woods, and Austin Gomez fall out after their losses and Mitchell Mesenbrink and Vinny Zerban enter. While Zerban has a higher bonus rate and dominance score than the handful of guys ahead of him, he is hurt by the 3rd criteria - quality of competition. Zerban has only wrestled four ranked wrestlers all year and one in the top 19.
