New Jersey High School Wrestling Mini Boards
Class of 2025
This is such an awesome class.
Knox is #1 and is the name you know best. His list of accomplishments is well-known. Among them, two state titles, a Fargo stop sign, a Super 32 belt and a Beast of the East title. He leads the way in the Class of 2025.
The top four guys here, all own a state title, while Knox has two, and all these guys look to have the goods to make it at the next level.
Ludington is the real deal. After winning a state title as a freshman at 175 pounds, beating Michael Dellagatta and Jared Schoppe, he dominated his way to the finals in year two before falling to Simon Ruiz in a nailbiter. He’s going to be trouble for the rest of the state for the next two seasons.
State champ Alessio Perentin wrestles great in every position and has no fear of mixing things up upper body. Expect Perentin to continue to grow into a great prospect with pace and physicality beyond his years.
Jamar Dixon caught the attention of the state after placing fifth at 132 as a freshman. In his second trip to the state tournament, he fell to the state champ Grungo in the quarters but has proved plenty he’s still one of the best guys in his class. On top of his skills, he’s got a frame that will continue to grow into someone who could dominate up top in his final two seasons at Delsea.
After finishing in the blood round of the state tournament as freshmen, Ryan Burton, Rocco Dellagatta and Jordan Chapman, all found themselves in the third-place match at this year’s state tournament.
Dellagata continues to put on size and wrestles the same unconventional but effective style as his brother. He placed third at the U.S. Open at 110 kg just a few weeks ago. Look out for him to continue making noise this summer in Fargo if he makes the trip. After all, it is summer in Jersey.
Burton was super impressive in his sophomore campaign, finishing third at a deep 165-pound class after wrestling 157 most of the season, while Jordan Chapman was a fourth-place finisher at Fargo (16U) last summer.
Carson Walsh has been to the semis in two trips to Boardwalk Hall and is a former Fargo All-American. He’s a kid who shows up when it’s time to compete.
This Class of 2025 is one to really be on the lookout for in the next two seasons.
