Freshman Kellen Wolbert has defended the #1 spot in Wisconsin after another thrilling win over #16 nationally ranked Ben Bast. However, that’s not to bring down the season that Bast has had to this point, taking out the ranked wrestler in two different states (MN and IL). We have yet to hear of Bast’s college plans. The weight is extremely deep after that as both the next two ranked wrestlers have yet to lose in their high school careers. Neenah’s Declan Koch has also shown a lot of promise as a freshman this year beating several highly-ranked athletes this season. However, he has split the season series with the #9 ranked Nolan Skebba. This is a weight that could see a lot more movement heading toward the postseason.
