Four-time Pennsylvania high school state champ Gavin Teasdale has entered the transfer portal, indicating he will likely leave Iowa for another program this fall. Teasdale wrestled 12 matches in three tournaments for the Hawkeyes last season. Prior to that Gavin spent about half the 2018-19 season at Penn State.

Teasdale checked off the box in the portal saying he would like to be contacted by coaches, suggesting that he has not yet determined his next landing spot.

A native of the Pittsburgh area, Teasdale originally verbaled to Iowa before changing his commitment and signing with Penn State. Teasdale did not take the mat for the Nittany Lions and by the end of January he was officially off the team. Last summer, Teasdale made the decision to join the Hawkeyes

Though Teasdale did not exactly excel last season at 133 pounds, he still represents a tremendous amount of potential. In addition to his four PA state titles, Teasdale was #2 recruit for the class of 2018, has won Fargo titles and made multiple Cadet World teams.
