Iowa has picked up its first commitment from the crop of rising seniors, as Zach Glazier has verballed to the Hawkeyes.

Glazier chose Iowa over a final five that included Minnesota, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, and Purdue.

This makes the second big commit from the Minnesota Elite club in just a week's time. Patrick Kennedy, a rising junior, also made the decision to wrestle for the black and gold in college.

According to Glazier, he feels he should be a 184-pounder at the Division I level and that he has the frame to fill out to that weight. About his decision to head to Iowa City after high school, Glazier told FloWrestling the following:

Since I was little I've always dreamed of being a Hawkeye and wrestling in Carver. I really like the coaches and felt I connected well with everyone there. I think Iowa is the best place I can be to achieve my goals.

Currently ranked fourth at 170lb, Glazier won his first state title this past season, going 47-1 for Albert Lea High School. Before the season, he beat Peyton Robb in the finals of the JJ Classic. Last year, he was second at the AA tournament and ended up 41-5. He also placed fourth as a freshman and third as an eighth-grader.

Heading into his senior year, Glazier comes in at No. 32 on the Class of 2019 Big Board. Most recently, he placed fifth in a loaded 80kg bracket in Akron, Ohio, and helped Minnesota to a runner-up finish in freestyle at Junior Duals. Last July in Fargo, he finished fifth at 160lb. Hawkeyes fans can watch him try to win a stop sign in Fargo in just a few weeks, LIVE on Flo.
