Things could be coming full circle for Jason Renteria.  The former Cornhusker was recently granted a release from Nebraska and is seeking a transfer out of Lincoln.  At the time of the initial release, Jason could head to any school outside the Big 10.  FloWrestling has been able to confirm through the Renteria family that Jason has been granted a full release, including Big 10 schools.

Jason has already been visited by the Iowa coaching staff.  At this point, Jason has not made his decision where he'll be wrestling next year.

After initially committing to Iowa years ago, he later de-committed from the Hawkeyes and chose to go to Nebraska.  J-Rent had his redshirt pulled mid-season this year and had solid results.  However, his season ended at NCAA's where he was unable to make weight.

If you're wondering how this could fit for Iowa, with the recent transfer of Austin DeSanto (another 133 lber), here's how it can work.

2018-19
133: Austin DeSanto (Renteria redshirt)
141: Max Murin/Vince Turk
149: Pat Lugo (JR)

2019-2020
133: Jason Renteria (DeSanto redshirt)
141: Max Murin/Vince Turk
149: Pat Lugo (SR)

2020-2021
133: Austin DeSanto/Jason Renteria
141: Austin DeSanto/Jason Renteria
149: Max Murin

Obviously, the order of who redshirts first is interchangeable as well as who goes 141 for the 2020-21 season. With both DeSanto and Renteria having redshirts there is a simple way to get all these hammers in the lineup without a monster on the bench.
