In the championship match, Bassett walked away with his third state title and an undefeated record. He becomes a part of an elite club where just four wrestlers before him have done the same. 

As Bassett took the mat to square off against Brandt Harer, the match was all in the Bishop McCourt's seniors from the start. 

It took the Virginia Tech commit all of two minutes and forty-nine seconds to secure a victory. With the 6-1 vicotry, Bassett secures his 170th career win with zero losses. 

Bassett goes down in the PIAA record books not only by winning his third back-to-back title, but by also being the only wrestler to go through the PIAA tournament, throughout the duration of his career, not having to wrestle a full match.
