The 2026 PIAA State Wrestling Championships are off to a hot star. With preliminary and first round action concluded, Bo Bassett is off to a great start.

After taking a bye in the preliminary round on Mar. 5, Bassett wasted no time and asserted dominance early in the first round. 

The Bishop McCourt senior came away with a massive first round victory over Jacob Mackie, from Oley Valley, 19-3. 

The future Hokie will prepare for his quarterfinal matchup on Mar. 6. Bassett will compete against Charley Paige for the quarterfinals of the bracket in the second session. 

Here is what the matchup will look like for Bassett as well as a look at his competition later in the bracket. 

When Does Bo Bassett Compete In The Quarterfinals

• Bassett will compete in the quarterfinals of the PIAA State Wrestling Championships on Mar. 6. 
• Bassett will take on Charley Paige, who narrowly won the first round match, 6-5.  
• The quarterfinal rounds will begin approximately at 7:00 AM CT/8:00 AM ET

Who Is Next If Bassett Advances From Quarterfinals

Assuming Bassett advances from the Quarterfinals, he will move on to the semi-finals which will take place in the evening on Mar. 6. 

Bassett would receive the winner of the Greyson Meyer and Greyson Music matchup. 

On the other side of the bracket, Brandt Harer is making his presence known, taking a round one victory, 17-0. 

Should both Harer and Bassett keep advancing, the possibility of these two meeting up in the final would be a sight to see.
