Here’s what to know ahead of their clash:
Lee's Automatic Bid
Last summer at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Lee competed at 57 kg and claimed a silver medal after losing to Japan's Rei Higuchi in the gold medal match. His placement in the Olympics qualified him for an automatic bid into Final X.
The Paris Olympics are not the only international stage that Lee has succeeded on. Lee has received three age-level World titles, a 2024 Senior Pan American title, and a 2025 Zagreb Open Ranking Series gold medal.
NCAA Championship Contenders
Lilledahl just completed his true freshman year at Penn State, finishing in third place at the NCAA Championships at 125 pounds. He also notched a Big Ten title.
While Lilledahl is just getting his feet wet in college competition, Lee boasts three NCAA titles, four NCAA All-American titles, and two Don Hodge Trophies for the University of Iowa from 2017-2023.
The Last Time Lee vs. Lilledahl Competed
There has only been one previous time that Lee and Lilledahl have faced each other, and it was back in 2023 at the Bill Ferrell Memorial International.
Lee capitalized on a converted takedown, racking up four turns to end the match in less than two minutes.
Lilledahl, while still relative to the senior level, is a four-time age group World medalist, a U23 Pan American Championship gold medalist, and 2025 U.S. Open winner, which qualified him for a spot in Final X.
