2022-23 Big 12 Conference Rankings

165 pounds

This figures to be the most exciting weight class in the Big 12 this season with two NCAA champions (Keegan O’Toole and David Carr) and another All-American (Peyton Hall), along with five others ranked in the top 33 to start the season. O’Toole finished off a perfect 25-0 season last year with Big 12 and NCAA titles. O’Toole is currently 44-1 in his career after finishing third at the NCAA Championships as a freshman. Carr is making the move up from 157 pounds this season for Iowa State. The 2021 NCAA champion was undefeated on the year last season before getting upset in the second round of the national tournament by Hunter Willits. Carr racked up six straight victories following that loss on his way to a third-place finish. After reaching the round of 12 at a freshman, Hall had a strong season for West Virginia that ended with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Championships in a loaded 165-pound weight class.
